Mike Dunford is a leadership and human resources consultant as well as an advocate for military veterans, who served as the CHRO and Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Covidien an $11B global medical device company with 38,000 employees operating in more than 70 countries.
Following a 16-year career with Covidien, where he left after Medtronic's acquisition in 2015, Mike, a retired Marine Corps Reserve Officer, is currently leading the introduction and deployment of Edge4Vets, a program in Massachusetts focused on helping veterans translate their military skills and experiences into tools for civilian success. Additionally, he has developed and delivered a program related to military hiring that serves to educate HR and line-leaders on the value and impact that military hiring programs and veterans can have in organizations.
Mike served as a member of the Board for The Northeast Human Resources Association (NEHRA), the Healthcare Business Women’s Association (HBA) Boston Chapter, the Human Resources Policy Institute at Boston University, and Governing Body Chair for the Boston HR Leadership Summit.
Since March 2015, following the acquisition of Covidien by Medtronic, Mike has continued his work and service with the Year Up Providence Advisory Board, the Edge4Vets Program, the Greater Boston Veterans Collaborative, the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, and recently as a member of the Board of the Human Resources Leadership Group (HRLF). In 2016 he founded the Dunford Consulting Group, focused on executive leadership coaching and the development and execution of HR and talent related strategies.
