Carol Malysz, Executive Director, MedMates
Carol Malysz is an entrepreneurial leader whose career has been devoted to helping executives and professionals by delivering one-on-one coaching, life-changing programs, and hands-on training, Carol has helped people and organizations discover and navigate their leadership journey. Carol’s passion is to help people succeed. Her listening skills and ability to establish trust have led to building strong and loyal client relationships. Carol brings together organizations and individuals and helps them craft creative, yet pragmatic plans of action to achieve their goals and objectives.
Currently, as Executive Director of MedMates, Carol’s mission is to grow the life sciences economy in Rhode Island and southeastern New England. She does this by forging strong and impactful relationships with life sciences companies, entrepreneurs, sources of capital, academic and medical centers, hospitals and government organizations. She works with the Board of Directors to advance MedMates’ vision of ensuring a high-value life sciences and healthcare community that improves patients’ lives, strengthens the economy and enhances the quality of life in the greater Rhode Island region.
Previously, Carol was vice president at New Directions, where she coached, and built networks and relationships with leaders at local and Fortune 500 companies. Prior to her role at New Directions, Carol started the Center for Women & Enterprise of Rhode Island and served as executive director for nine years, building business development programs for more than 5,000 entrepreneurs and securing $17 million in bank financing for female business owners. She served on the board of the national Association of Women’s Business Centers, supporting development of entrepreneurial women.
Carol earned her MBA in Entrepreneurship from Babson College and is a graduate of the Center for Creative Leadership. She is a certified professional coach with the College of Executive Coaching and a certified analyst in the Predictive Index® (PI®). Carol is a board director for the Human Leadership Resource Forum (HRLF) and leads the MORE and Volunteer Management Committees.
